Balance Statement

 

We took the approach of the theme of balance as applied to the relationship between HIV disease and testing, effective treatment, vaccine and/or curative research.

 

The definition of balance from The Merriam-Webster Dictionary: “A weight, force, or influence counteracting the effect of another; a state of equilibrium.”

 

In light of this definition, the approach of the ‘Balance’ theme should be applied to alleviating some of the physical, social and emotional issues that are involved with HIV/AIDS with informative digital media based on valid contemporary research.

 

After researching the definition of balance and its potential application to HIV/AIDS issues, we found it necessary to move from “balancing” equities to the scientific/healthcare equation to the “balanced” state.  The American heritage Desk Dictionary and Thesaurus defines balanced as “characterized by displaying symmetry, especially correspondence in scale and measure.” With this definition in mind, gHIVe has approached the theme of balance by affirming that the effectiveness of a proposed/enacted solution or supplementary measures will successfully counteract general anxiety of HIV/AIDS issues and the apprehension of testing.

 

gHIVe will develop informative 3D modeled digital media that will address the following subjects pertaining to HIV/AIDS: testing, antiretroviral drugs, adherence, the search for a vaccine, and the search for a cure.
